I’m baaack! I intentionally didn’t say on the blog how long I would be on vacation, but it was five weeks (bless my lovely workplace for allowing me to take five weeks in a row off!). Five glorious weeks of meeting up with friends, getting treated by said friends (which was so sweet and unexpected), driving around in a rental car (a Nissan Sentra, which was a reliable car but incredibly boring), browsing grocery stores, drinking iced coffees, playing with my sister’s black Lab Guinness, trying our luck at penny slots in Vegas casinos, and doing so many other things. I cried when we left. Now it’s our third day back in Estonia and I’m jet-lagged and trying not to miss things so much. I’m craving meals I ate there, as well as things I didn’t even get around to eating this time (I swear, Chipotle, next year you’re first on the list). I wish Estonia didn’t have to be so damn far away from the USA. I know that this funk will pass as I transition back into everyday life here and my usual schedule of sleep, work and workouts. I do still love it here, but saying good-bye to my parents, my childhood home, the cat, the dog, friendly people who chat without hesitation– it’s always hard. On a cheerier note– America food blog posts to come!
